The Historic Ocean Springs Saltwater Flyfishing Club
HOSSFly is a fly-fishing club that has been active in Ocean Springs since 1968. We get together in sportsmanship, fellowship, conservation and learning through the sport of fly fishing.
For more information please:
HOSSFly Club meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM at the Ocean Springs Yacht club, 100 Front Beach Dr., Ocean Springs, Ms. New members are always welcome. Dues are $25/year or $15 if paid by February 28.
During our meetings we plan fly-fishing related activities, hear fishing reports or a guest speaker, show a fly-fishing video, demonstrate knot tying, practice fly-casting or learn how to tie new flies.
Recent and Coming Events Calendar
2014 Membership Dues - are due! Please send a check for $15 to our Treasurer, Mike Sharpe, at his address on the "Officers" page, or bring it by the March meeting. We will set our mailing lists for 2014 after that date and dues will increase to $25.
February / March Chandeleur trip - Rod Fields has been busy fishing and planning. We have a 2 or 3 night weekend RESCHEDULED for March 20 -23. This could be one of the best Spring weekends that we have scheduled in some time. It is "prime time" with some chance of our being "bumped" for a higher paying charter group. We may open late vacancies to other club members in the area so don't miss this one! Click this Chandeleur trips file for more complete details.
March Meeting - Our traditional first Tuesday meeting in March falls on Mardis Gras, so we will meet on the following Tuesday, March 11 at the OSYC at 6pm.
April Shell Island trip - Bob Effinger has been busy plotting a trip to the Shell Island area south of Tallahassee - April 24-27 - shellislandfishcamp.com - 850-925-6226 The trout fishing can be incredible and you will not find such miles and miles of clear water grass flats anywhere - real old Florida. Make your reservation early as they will fill up early for the Spring fishing. There are "fish fry" facilities and we should have a great time.
